Privacy policy
What information the Structure Computer site (“the site”) handles, where it is kept, and what it is used for.
Information handled
| Information | Where it is kept | What it is used for |
|---|---|---|
| The input of a computation (the system, the states, the field and the settings of the questions) | The compute server; it may be stored with the computed results and certificates | To compute and return the answer; to monitor the service and investigate faults |
| The history of computations (recent results) | Only in your browser (localStorage) | To look back at recent results on the Try page; “Clear” in the history removes it |
| Your choice of language | A cookie in your browser (NEXT_LOCALE, one year) | To show the site in the same language next time |
| Access records (IP address, time, pages opened and so on) | The records of the hosting providers that run the site and the compute server | To operate the service and keep it secure |
| Emails sent to the contact address (the address and the content) | The operator's email | To reply |
What is not used
The site uses no tracking for advertising, no analytics service and no user accounts.
Disclosure to third parties
The information above is not disclosed to third parties except as required by law. The site and the compute server run on external hosting providers, however, and those providers handle the access records above.
How long it is kept
The compute server keeps the inputs and results of computations for 7 days after a computation ends, and then deletes them automatically. The history on the Try page is only in your browser; “Clear” in the history removes it.
Changes to this policy
The operator may change this policy as needed. The changed policy takes effect when it is posted on the site.
